Built in Memory of my son, Captain Sir Edward Hamilton Westrow Hulse, who was killed at the battle of Neuve Chapelle on

March 12th 1915 in his 26th year. He gave his life in the attempt to help a wounded friend.

I know that in giving this Hall to the people of this village they will for all time maintain and use it for the promotion of Health,

Happiness and Knowledge and will keep in their minds the spirit of self-sacrifice of him in whose memory it is built.
